Taking place in Newcastle on the 9th of September, the Great North Run (half marathon) and the Great South Run in Portsmouth (10 miles) takes place just a month later. Both runs will be sure to test her endurance, but it is all in aid of a great cause.
Speaking ahead of the challenge, Rachael said:
“Originally I was only going to be taking part in the Great South Run in October this year. But I then entered a competition and won a place in the Great North Run. I decided it was the perfect opportunity to better my original challenge and do both the Great South and Great North runs all within a month of each other. And all the while raising money for an amazing charity!”
“Unfortunately, I have been suffering from a calf strain which has made training tough, but this will not stop me! If you are able to spare a few pounds by donating to support this great cause, I would be extremely grateful!”
