After over a year since joining the team, we caught up with Mike to see how he was finding life at Vinyl Solutions and to find out more about him.
Speaking about what originally attracted him to Vinyl Solutions, Mike said:
“It was an exciting all-round accounts role in a growing business that attracted me to the position. It was a chance to make a direct impact in improving the company’s processes and maximise efficiency. It took no time to settle in as the team are very warm, fun and friendly. There are always projects and targets to keep you motivated too which is important.“
“My role involves helping with the day to day running and bookkeeping of the sales and purchase ledgers, managing the cash book and making sure the management team have all the performance analysis and trading reports they need to make key financial decisions.“
Who are in your family?
I am the second youngest in a family of seven! I have two brothers and two sisters, so it was fun growing up together.
What are your hobbies?
I love watching and chatting about films. I have favourites in every genre, and I love even the black and white classics. I love playing team sports like football, basketball and beach volleyball. I also enjoy doing art: drawing and painting.
Football is my passion. Not only watching and playing, but researching its history.
A very hard question to answer, but I think Radiohead has had the most influence on me. They are musical geniuses.
Can I cheat and say my three all-time favourites: Blade Runner, Good Will Hunting and the Shawshank Redemption.
Best live concert?
I saw Coldplay at Wembley Stadium. It was an amazing experience.
I do love a curry and Chinese, but my dream last meal would actually be a carvery. Can’t beat cheesy cauliflower.
I have fond memories of Barcelona, and the beaches along the south coast of Spain.
Favourite place in the World?
The beach: the best place for the body and mind to relax.
Favourite TV show?
I have many: Twin Peaks, Breaking Bad, Lost, Game of Thrones and Mr. Robot.
Has to be the VW Golf: fast, great handling, economic and the engine lasts forever.
What annoys you?
Someone who cheats when playing a board game.
What’s top of your bucket list?
A coast to coast road trip of America.
