Being smart about how you store items in a static caravan or lodge is key to maximising the space you have available to you.

Please see below some tips on how to make the most of your storage space:

1. Out with the old

If you’re not starting from an empty caravan, it’s time for a de-clutter. We’d recommend going through your static home room-by-room and making three piles out on your decking:

• Keep
• Sell/Donate
• Bin

If you haven’t used an item in more than a year, it’s pretty safe to say that you won’t need it…

2. Start afresh

Now everything is sorted, time to put it all back in, but in a really smart storage way!

3. Kitchen

Maximise your cupboard space by using stackable containers – either see through or labelled so you can easily find what you need. Also, adding a rack or extra shelves in the cupboard will give you more surface space.

Wall storage for cooking pans or knives are effective and can look really fresh and modern.

4. Shower Room

Why not add a corner shelf in your shower, or shelf in your bathroom, to give you some extra storage space and so you can have the items you use most regularly to hand?

5. Lounge

Ensure all seating and coffee tables double up as storage areas, meaning you can keep bulky items, such as spare bedding and blankets in them. You can even put these items into vacuum bags if they’re not used often, and really make the best of the space.

6. Bedrooms

Using shoe racks in the wardrobes will give you more space and shoes will be more easily accessible. 

Also, using multi-hangers, which allows you to hang more than one item per hanger, are a great way to fit more clothes into your wardrobe.

7. Outside
