August 6, 2020How to… Modernise your Holiday Home or Lodge
If your caravan, holiday home or lodge is a little older and it’s starting to feel a bit drab, here are some tips and ideas to help bring it back to life:
1. Know your budget
Start by knowing what you can afford to spend. You don’t want to dive head-first into a renovation project and then have to stop when it’s half-finished because you’ve run out of money.
2. Know your skills
You might be great with the concept side of design, but do you need to call in the professionals to actually carry the work out? It might cost you a few more pennies, but might be worth it for the best results if you don’t have the know-how.
3. Know your market
If you’re doing up your static caravan, holiday home or lodge to sell, think about who will be buying it. For example, if you were to install a new bright red bathroom, because it’s “on trend” or you like it, would it appeal to another owner? Try and keep things ‘neutral’ if you’re doing it up ready to sell it.
4. Know your products
There are many companies out there who can help you with your renovations. Ensure you’re comparing like for like when receiving quotes and look at the longevity and maintenance needed, to make your life as easy as possible.
5. Know your exteriors
Last but by no means least, look at updating your outside living space, this can really update the whole look of your static caravan or holiday home. You likely bought a holiday home in the first place because you like relaxing. Adding, extending or upgrading the decking to your holiday home or lodge, will not only improve your outside living space it will renew the complete look of your home.
