Vinyl Solutions is committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility within the decking industry, whilst also supporting a number of local community initiatives.
With a steadfast dedication to minimising our ecological footprint, we have implemented a number of initiatives to minimise our impact on the planet.
Eco-friendly Materials
At Vinyl Solutions, we start with the basics. Our commitment to sustainability begins with the selection of eco-friendly materials contained across our products.
- uPVC – The recyclability of our uPVC makes it a sustainable choice for various applications, especially in the construction and building sectors. When using recycled uPVC, you contribute to reducing the demand for virgin plastic and promote the circular economy, where materials are reused and recycled, ultimately reducing waste and environmental impact.
- Composite – Our eco-friendly Composite Prime decking board uses the latest technology to create beautiful decking that not only has the natural look and feel of timber, but it also has the added strength and durability of plastic. It combines FSC® 100% certified hardwood timber and recycled HDPE plastic. In fact, 3,000 plastic bottle caps and 280 plastic milk bottles are recycled per square metre of decking.
- Timber – Our primary timber suppliers are committed to carbon offsetting. In fact, they’ve taken decisive action towards offsetting the carbon generated from their customer deliveries by creating three forests, already planting over 300,000 trees.

Waste Reduction
Vinyl Solutions takes a proactive approach to waste reduction. Our streamlined production techniques and strict quality control measures ensure minimal material wastage. Moreover, we actively seek innovative ways to repurpose and recycle materials, reinforcing our commitment to a circular economy.
We also actively collect uPVC waste from a number of holiday parks for recycling back at our factory.
Recycling Programs
We are actively involved in recycling initiatives. Vinyl Solutions operates recycling programs that facilitate the responsible disposal of our products at the end of their life cycles.
This approach ensures that our products have minimal impact even after their useful life is over.
Supporting local initiatives
As part of our work with our chosen charity Julia’s House Children’s Hospices’ we look to support activities during the year to educate and champion ecological initiatives.
For example, each year we support the collection of used Christmas trees from residents across Dorset. Not only is this initiative raising funds for Julia’s House – the trees are also recycled.

Local Sourcing
To further minimise our carbon footprint, we look to prioritise local sourcing whenever possible.
By supporting regional suppliers and businesses, we reduce transportation-related emissions, thereby contributing to the sustainability of our communities.
As part of our work in the community we are delighted to continue supporting the work of Julia’s House as our charity chosen charity, a charity we have supported for over 6 years.
About Julia’s House
Julia’s House is the Dorset and Wiltshire children’s hospice. It is an award-winning charity dedicated to providing clinical, emotional and practical care to local children with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition and their families, by offering support in families’ homes, in the community or at their hospices.
Throughout the year we undertake a number of fundraising activities and events, such as an Annual Golf Day, to help support this great cause.
To find out more about their great work and to make a donation please visit www.juliashouse.org.
Our support for the British Heart Foundation
Prior to supporting Julia’s House we were delighted to support the British Heart Foundation. Over two years our team managed to raise a great sum to support the cause, with fundraising activities such as a Christmas donation, Halloween fancy dress and Managing Director, Ben Hart undertaking a 40 mile cycle challenge, to name a few.
Other initiatives
In 2017 we supported the Victoria Education Centre in Poole, a local school who specialise is educating children with physical disabilities or complex medical/neurological conditions. They required a new deck for their chalet, which is used as a retreat for their pupils. We were delighted to help in what was a great initiative for a great cause.
