Vinyl Solutions at the Poole Harbour Boat Show 2017
May 22, 2017Striving to exceed customer expectations
July 31, 2017Listening, learning, reviewing, growing, rebranding and giving something back… it’s been a busy 10 months!
Ten months in to my new adventure I wanted to give a bit of an update on what I’ve been up to at Vinyl Solutions. It has probably been one of the most hectic but rewarding periods of my career so far!
When I joined Vinyl Solutions as Managing Director back in August last year, it was a very exciting time for me personally and for the business which has been growing year on year. Vinyl Solutions are specialists in uPVC decking and fencing systems, predominantly for the static holiday and park homes industry. We’ve been operating since 2000 and are a preferred supplier for many park operators across the UK.
The past ten months have flown by, it has been a bit of a whirlwind. I am delighted to have been part of it! As a business we’ve made some great progress as we strive to be the best we can be. We endeavor to deliver an exemplary product and service to our customers.
Listening and Learning
For those who read my blog from soon after I joined Vinyl Solutions, much of my first few months were spent learning. Not only was the industry completely new to me, I also had to learn how the business worked. This included getting to know the team, our partners and customers.
Although I’m yet to get a full grasp on how everything works, the patience shown by the team to take me through everything has been fantastic. I’m very grateful to them all.
I have also taken time to meet, listen to and learn about our customers and partners, their challenges and their ideas. This has been hugely valuable. Ultimately, we want to make life easier and better for them, help them to achieve their targets, tackle their challenges. Furthermore we want to provide an excellent service to them and their customers.
With this line of dialogue with our partners and customers open, we’re going to keep listening. Working at both an individual park level, through our experienced team of Regional Account Managers, and at a head office level we’re keen to make our partners’ lives better. We’ll continue improving our products and exceed our customers’ expectations.
Reviewing and growing
As with any business, it is important to keep reviewing how you work to ensure you have the right resources, systems and processes in place to deliver.
When I joined Vinyl Solutions it was a successful company with a growth year on year. Not only that, we were already delivering a great product and service. However, I’m always keen to look at ways we can continue to improve as a business. This is why we’ve been having a full review of our systems and processes to ensure we have the right resources and systems in place. This will enable us to continue delivering a great service and an even better service in the future!
As part of this review we’re delighted to have grown our Sales team. This has included two new Sales Support Co-ordinators joining the business this month. They will provide valuable support for our team of Regional Account Managers.
‘Premium Quality’, ‘Dependable’, ‘Friendly’ and ‘Innovative’ are our Core Values
These core values have been developed as part of a rebrand of Vinyl Solutions. These values will help to better position us in the industry. These values weren’t just dreamed up though, all of them are values that we were and are already living.
When I joined, I was so impressed by the passion and drive of the team to deliver a great service to our customers.
These words already resonate with all of the team. They will become further embeded in to our culture as we strive to deliver a professional, friendly and premium quality service.
As part of the rebrand you may have noticed we also have a new logo and visual identity. We launched this at the beginning of the year alongside our new brochure. We also have a new website – www.vinylsolutions.co.uk – we hope you like it!
Vinyl Solutions are giving something back
When I joined Vinyl Solutions I wanted to ensure we gave something back to the community. Earlier in the year we were delighted to announce that we’re supporting the British Heart Foundation as our charity of the year. The team are all committing to help raise funds throughout the year. We’re delighted to support the fantastic work that they do in raising awareness of coronary heart disease and cardiovascular research. I dusted off my bike and took part in a 40-mile bike ride with my 9 year old son, and we’re planning to do more this year to help reach our fundraising goal.
We also recently supported the Victoria Education Centre in Poole by fitting a new deck on their chalet at Rockley Holiday Park. The Victoria Education Centre does excellent work in supporting and teaching children and young adults. We were delighted to help by providing one of our quality decks when they refurbished their chalet. It was the least we could do!
Looking ahead…
As you can see it’s been a busy 10 months since I joined! As we move in to “silly season”, and our busiest months of the year, I’m very excited about what lies ahead.
We have an excellent team in place with a great attitude and an ever growing order book. We will continue to listen to our partners and customers and review what we’re doing and how we’re doing it. This will enable us to continue delivering a better product and service and, in turn, continue to grow!
So if you’re a friend, partner or customer and you’d like to find out more about Vinyl Solutions, what we’re doing and our plans for the future we’d love to hear from you.
