New industry research highlights the value of the UK holiday park and campsite industry

The UK Caravan & Camping Alliance – which brings together the BH&HPA with The Camping and Caravanning Club, the Caravan and Motorhome Club, and the National Caravan Council – has this week published a major new report. The report, called Pitching the Value, highlights the economic value of holiday parks to the UK economy.

The report indicates how the industry contributes a significant 8% of the UK’s entire tourism GVA. It generates around £9.3 billion of visitor spending every year and supports more than 170,000 jobs. In addition to this, tourers and caravan holiday home owners spend money on maintenance. This adds a further £877.7m of expenditure to the economy each year.
